The first thing I have to comment on is the packaging. I LOVE all the packaging of the products from the Ordinary. Their branding is based on real working chemical formulas and this is seen in their packaging as well as the formulas. They either come in tubes or medicinal looking bottles which you can apply through the pipette. Adore.

This is the primer Wayne recommended for more mature skin, but I really wanted to give both a good go so purchased it anyway. The only issue is I'm really not a fan of this type of primer! This thick, gooey, liquid texture just isn't right for my skin, and believe me I've tried a fair few of this type. I much prefer the mousse type or a slightly thicker (kind of like a paste) primer, such as Angel Viel by NYX or Lancome's perfect base.
Saying that, I realise I am in the minority and out of all thicker primers I've tried (such as Porefessional by benefit). This is one of my favourites. It doesn't make my skin feel greasy, which they often do and where my skin is dry (it's been particularly patchy at the moment as I'm using retinol) it does help smooth things over. But where I have fine lines in my forehead (thanks to my particularly emotive face) it doesn't do much.
Perhaps I'm not the best person to rate this primer because of my feelings towards certain primer, but it's the best of this type I've tried- and that's not even considering the price point.

A slight downfall of this primer is it doesn't work too well with heavy foundation. I almost feel like thicker foundation penetrates the layer the primer it creates and disrupts it a little. Definitely best for every day looks.
So to answer the real question, do these primers live up to expectations? The answer is quite simply yes. They are completely comparable to higher end products and feel like skincare rather than make up.
