L'oreal Magique Cushion | Review

Korean beauty will soon be monopolising the British market. Well that's what I think anyway. Skincare has always touched on Asian elements but recently the increase in charcoal face masks indicates what direction we might be moving it. In terms of make up, the first notable Korean influence was the cushion foundation from Lancome. The cushion foundation was actually invented in Korea. A sponge is essentially saturated in a foundation and you tap on it with an applicator for a dewy coverage. It's a lightweight portable way to carry foundation around with you. The Lancome has had rave reviews and it's something I desperately want to purchase, but with L'Oreal bringing out their own and with myself trying to tightening my purse strings I'd thought I'd give the cheaper alternative ago.

Currenlty the foundation is £10, but this is meant to go up to £14 after the introductory price has finished. Which isn't that cheap for a drugstore foundation. So does it justify it's price?

In short, yes. Let's start with the packaging. It's ideal for keeping in your handbag and the colouring is also very sleek and feminine. I love how it opens and I feel like there's no danger of my foundation drying up. It even comes with a mirror on the inside so you can check your application on the go.

Like most drug store foundations the shade range probably isn't the best and doesn't cater to either the very dark or the very light. So I, being on the very light side of things know the foundation isn't  the best match for me. However, due to it's summer texture and finish, I feel like a little darker is ok.
Speaking of the finish, if you're looking for something which is full coverage this isn't for you. Probably no cushion foundation is. It gives a lovely glow to the skin and a beautiful dewy finish. The foundation is very build-able too. The only thing I don't particular rate is the application sponge that came with it, but I was expecting that. A beauty sponge is the only thing that really applies this foundation well, I feel like a buffing brush takes up too much product and can damage the saturated sponge, which no one wants as it seems this product is designed to last a while.

So if you're looking for a summer foundation or just something that can give you a glow I'd really recommend this product. I thoroughly enjoying using it and I can't wait till I have a bit of spare cash so I can try the Lancome one next!
